Actions In The Event Of a Fire

1. Raise the alarm. If you see a fire, shout “Fire!”. This will alert other guests and to the danger.

2. Evacuate the building. If you are in the building, evacuate immediately using the nearest escape route as depicted below.

3. Help others to evacuate.

4. Call the fire brigade. Once you have evacuated the building, call the fire brigade on 999.

5. Meet at the safe meeting point. This is located the driveway. Once you have evacuated the building, meet at the safe meeting point outside the building. This will help you to keep track of everyone and ensure that no one is missing.

6. Stay calm. It is important to stay calm in the event of a fire. This will help you to think clearly and make safe decisions.

Here are some additional tips for staying safe in the event of a fire:
• If you are trapped in a room, close the door and seal any gaps with towels or blankets, if possible it is preferable to use wet towels or blankets . This will help to slow the spread of the fire.
• If you have to crawl through smoke, keep your face close to the ground. The smoke will be less dense near the floor.
• If you are wearing clothing that is on fire, stop, drop, and roll. This will help to extinguish the flames.
• Do not re-enter the building until the fire brigade has given the all-clear.
